Hundreds of people have died, many of them young children, in the worst floods north-east Bangladesh has seen in more than a century. More than 6 million people have been left stranded.
Lonely Orphans has rapid response plans and teams ready for disaster prone areas where we operate.
The Sylhet Water Development Board (WDB) reports that the river water has never risen so much since 2008. WDB officials are worried that the flood situation could worsen further if the rains continue upstream.
Uo to at least 100 people have died with over 2000 villages hit by the severe flooding. Many people are left stranded and homeless.
Lonely Orphans are currently on the grounds providing aid to affected areas; distributing aid and undertaking rescue efforts.
You can support families affected by donating:
£20 emergency relief pack (children & families)
£50 Flood relief pack (provide clean water and shelter)
£100 emergency survival kit (shelter & food packs)
£300 (could feed 10 families)
The devastation and human loss from natural and man-made disasters and unforeseen catastrophes around the world is felt widely and across the board with people affected by it.
